Some of you may have noticed that I no longer have a certain giveaway on my blog. Whenever I do giveaways, it is because a company (large or small) has contacted me, or their PR firm has contacted me. 50% of the time, I receive the same "prize" that is being given away - but most of the time I just like to give you guys free stuff, and companies some "free" PR.
The giveaway that I had posted, the PR firm contacted me, offering a giftcard for both a reader and myself. I jumped at the chance, wrote the post, sent it for approval, and got the green light. Shortly before the giveaway ended, I was contacted by the real PR firm of that company, letting me know that, not only has their entire brand name changed, but they are not doing any form of blogging PR at this moment.
Say what?
So of course I emailed my original contact. No response. Nothing. Nada.
And I'm fuming mad. Not only am I mad, but confused, as well. It's not like this person gained anything from offering this giveaway. My readers weren't sent to a certain blog/webpage, they didn't have to "like" anything on Facebook, or follow on Twitter. I didn't give away any personal information (thank goodness). I suppose it was just someone playing a mean prank.
But I've learned my lesson. I'll be sure to do my research before hand on ANY and ALL giveaways that I post.

what a bummer. Its such a shame that people do stuff like that...I will NEVER understand it.
