So, I did nothing last summer. Well, I won’t say nothing – but I didn’t go anywhere fun. I was feeling down in the dumps after my divorce was finalized, was still budgeting as tightly as I could, and had gained a dreaded 20 pounds AFTER losing all my baby weight.
But I’ve vowed to myself that I’m going to change for this summer. I’m in a much better place in my life right now. I want to get out of my hometown and do something fun – live a little. And I definitely want to take my girls on a vacation as well.
I’ve looked into cruises, and am almost positive that I’ll be booking one in a few short weeks, to take during the summer. I’ll be leaving from Charleston, SC and heading to the Bahamas. But now that we’re talking tropical weather...I’m going to have to get bathing suit ready (gulp)!
Through hard work, I was able to lose 10 pounds before the holidays simply by getting off my butt and into the gym. I still have another 10 pounds to go – and I feel like I’ve reached a plateau. The cold weather really puts a damper on my wanting to go to the gym. It’s really hard to get two kids ready and out the door after a full day of work. Plus, I’ve just started a new relationship. We’re still in that “we need to see each other as much as possible” stage. And in that stage, there’s a lot of eating – going out, pizza runs, movie popcorn, white chocolate crème brûlée strawberries (be jealous) – you name it.
So while I don’t want to cut back on my “fun” eating with my family – I’ve realized I have to do something about what I eat during the day. I can’t tell you how easy it is to run by and grab a spicy chicken biscuit, hash brown and orange juice for breakfast. Or how tempting square pizza is from the school cafeteria. But it is so, so unhealthy for me to eat that on a daily basis. I simply don’t have the time in the morning to make a nutritious breakfast or lunch… so I needed something that I could grab on the go.
And that’s when my co-worker suggested Slim-Fast. I drink a milk chocolate shake for breakfast, sneak in some grapes or an apple during class change in the morning, eat a Slim-Fast meal bar for lunch, eat some carrots or celery during my planning period – and then a normal 500 calorie meal for dinner. Oh, and drink an ungodly amount of water during the day, lol. But this is easy, and simple, and tasty – and I know I can accomplish my loss of 10 more pounds with just a little help.


So wish me luck, folks. I’ve got 3 short months to lose 10 pounds. I can do it – I know I can. I’ll feel better about myself, be healthier, and might actually pose for some pictures wearing a bathing suit!

Oh my goodness, I'm in the EXACT SAME BOAT!!! I lost all of my baby weight, then gained about twenty pounds back in no time flat. I'm down twelve, but have also hit a plateau. We're going to start trying for baby #2, and I'd really love to have my pre-preggie body back before I gain a ton of baby weight again. SlimFast may be my ticket to success!

SO I have been trying to chase three toddlers around and find time to lose weight. The only problem with that is I am eating what they are eating, just more of it. It definitely is time to change something. This would be a great start.

I'm trying to slim down to improve my overall health and wellness. Although, since swimsuit season is rapidly approaching, it would be nice to be rockin' a slimmer body at the beach :)
